DOWNTOWN
As part of Stanford’s CS247G: Design for Play course, I worked with a team to create Downtown, a narrative-driven exploration game centered on Flutter, a young chick who becomes separated from its family and must navigate a city that feels impossibly large. I contributed to the game’s design and development, as well as iterative playtesting that shaped its narrative, interaction mechanics, and overall experience.
Prototyping and Playtests
The game was developed through multiple rounds of iterative playtesting, beginning with low-fidelity narrative prototypes and progressing toward a playable digital experience. Early playtests focused on the story’s structure, emotional tone, and relationships between characters. Later prototypes explored how players moved through the environment, discovered interactive objects, and understood their goals.
