Cypherspace

Situated in teaching about the history of hip-hop, this project is exploring how virtual reality can cultivate joyful learning experiences through meaningful movement-based interaction. Learners engage with the five pillars of hip-hop (MCing, DJing, graffiti, breaking, and knowledge) through embodied learning activities such as creating virtual graffiti, scratching records on a virtual DJ setup, and joining a dance cypher. The project aims to make learning history in VR more engaging while promoting a more active paradigm VR education experiences. Development is in progress.
